Jordan Veller, BA
Executive Director
Jordan works as the Executive Director for Westminster House Society. She brings her knowledge, compassion, and lived experience to the role. Jordan has 7 years experience working in the non-profit sector. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Child and Youth Care from Douglas College and is currently working toward a Non-profit Management Certificate at Simon Fraser University. Jordan’s education and work history lend her a unique set of skills that serve her well in her leadership of the organization. She is involved in the day to day operations at Westminster House and the development of its big picture strategic objectives. She is passionate about recovery, women’s health, and fostering positive female development in Westminster House clients. Jordan’s experience, dedication, and commitment to recovery play an integral part in the delivery of our programs. Her competence and strong work ethic instill trust in our women served, community partners, board of directors, and other Westminster House stakeholders.

Sandra Glass, CCAC
Program Director
Sandra is a Program Director at Westminster House, bringing her experience as an Early Childhood Educator to support mothers in recovery from addiction navigate the challenges of parenting , shared, custody, and working with the Ministry Child and Family Services. Sandra is a certified counsellor with CACCF receiving her Addiction Counselling Skills Certificate from VCC in addition to many years of education in psychology, wellness, and fine arts. Sandra works with our adult clients using her experience with narrative and gestalt therapies as well as teaching Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training. Sandra is passionate about continuing her education into best practices for addiction treatment and ongoing recovery and is a vocal advocate for aftercare to ensure her clients have the best possible outcomes.

Kaya Mitchell
Case Manager
Kaya is a case manager in the adult primary program at Westminster House. Kaya received her certificate for Addiction Counseling Associate through Wilfird Laurier University and is a member of the Canadian Addiction Counselors Certification Federation. She is currently working towards being a certified counselor through the CACCF. In her role as a case manager, Kaya facilitates group therapy sessions on different specialized topics and works closely with her clients on stabilization, building self-worth, cultivating healthy relationships and discovering what they want out of life. Kaya uses her personal experience in recovery to encourage her clients to take accountability and autonomy for themselves. She is a strong advocate for showing what is possible, as she herself found recovery in the New Westminster recovery community.

Tara Miller
Client Care Coordinator
Tara is the Admissions and Medical Coordinator for Westminster House. She also serves as the Client Care Supervisor. She has been working at Westminster House since 2018, first starting out as Food Services Coordinator. To complement this experience, Tara earned her Addictions Certificate from Wilfred Laurier University in February of 2024. She has continued to further her education while working at WHS, earning her Nursing and Addiction Care & Treatment certificates from the UBC Faculty of Medicine. She’s also upgraded in subjects like psychopharmacology, youth mental health, and the Provincial Opiate Support Treatment Program. Tara is an integral part of the WHS team, supporting both clients and staff to succeed in their everyday tasks. She finds great fulfillment in connecting with the clients and seeing the transformation they experience day by day while in her care.

Jillian Gaetz
Food Service Manager
With over two decades of experience in the food service and hospitality industry, Jillian brings a wealth of knowledge across diverse roles and settings, including primary, transitional, and long-term living environments. Drawing on personal lived experience as a program graduate, she is deeply committed to creating meals that nourish both body and soul. Jillian holds an Addictions Certificate from Wilfrid Laurier University and am currently pursuing a Business Management Certificate at Simon Fraser University. Her passion lies in crafting wholesome, home-cooked recipes with diverse flavor and nutritional profiles, designed to support healing and well-being.

Carmelo Fabros
Maintenance Manager
Carmelo has worked for Westminster House for over two years and managed and cares for all facilities, from shoving snow to fixing minor repairs to managing big renovations. Carmelo is an all round detail-oriented handyman with a passion for solving problems. He is incredibly well-organized, with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, he keeps our buildings up to the highest of standards both inside and out.

Brooklyn Machado
Administration
Brooklyn works as the Medical Coordinator and Accounts Payable Clerk for Westminster House. Brooklyn brings her attention to detail and organization into her work. Brooklyn can also be seen working in Client Care as she wears many hats and has many talents throughout Westminster House, working with clients is one of them. Brooklyn has a caring heart and provides support to the clients and facilitates their medical needs.

Scott Emerson
Mr. Emerson's roles have included senior management positions and directorships. Scott brings a background in finance, business development, strategic planning and corporate restructuring to our team.
VICE PRESIDENT
Michelle Mix
When families are dealing with a loved one struggling with addiction their lives are filled with chaos and heartache. This is where Michelle's passions are - reaching out to those families and walking alongside them as they heal. Michelle has enjoyed a rewarding career, served on various boards and after a brief "retirement" has joined her husband's business in the investment & insurance industry. About being elected to the Board of Directors: "I've received so much from Westminster House, I'm grateful to have this opportunity to give back and hope to make a positive impact.
DIRECTOR
Mary Broadland
Mary is an experienced realtor with a background in the marketing and advertising industry. Mary brings her strong professional skills in strategic planning, negotiations, advertising, integrated marketing, client service and management to Westminster House board of directors.
TREASURER & SECRETARY
Lisa Hutchings
Lisa's journey with Westminster House started in 2016 as a client and she is now a proud alumna. Recovery has been the greatest gift she has given to herself, her family and her friends. Lisa has gained so much in life due to the support and knowledge she received at Westminster House and is honoured to give back by being a part of its Board of Directors. Lisa has previous experience as she was a community board member of a neighbourhood house. She has worked for the Vancouver School Board since 2006 as a School and Student Support Worker which has taught her to be collaborative, patient, empathetic, and attentive.
