Donate to Westminster House
Giving Opportunities
Westminster House assists hundreds of women struggling with addiction each year through its long-term, abstinence-based recovery program. The goal is to continue to help all women in need, but this can only be achieved through the support of caring individuals and organizations.
Please help Westminster House and its staff continue its mission to help others. As a result of donations and gifts, Westminster House has initiated a treatment bursary program for families and an education bursary program for our program graduates. Our bursary program is funded by General Donations aimed to help women and their families achieve sustainable recovery.
Financial Gift

How to Help

Giving Opportunities
Your donation makes it possible for us to give the gift of recovery to youth girls, young adults, and women who wish to leave the cycle of addiction behind and find a new way of life. Westminster House has elected to partner with CANADA HELPS; all donations receive an immediate tax receipt.
Westminster House is a Governance Board Model. Our fiscal year-end is March 31. Westminster House financials are audited annually by D&H Group. To request a copy of our financials, please email [email protected].

Why Give to Westminster House:
Westminster House is a non-profit society that provides addiction recovery services to adult women. We are a small organization, and that means 95% of your donation goes directly to fund the initiative that you choose. Westminster House is a public and private centre, and our goal is to continue to provide world-class treatment at a cost that is affordable to most families who don’t qualify for a funded bed at Westminster House.
Here’s how to include us in your Will:

1. Leave a gift in your will (bequest)
A bequest is the most common type of future gift – is a commitment made through your Will to be distributed by your estate upon your death. A bequest may be a specific piece of property, sum of money, or a portion of your estate and will reduce your estate taxes. You can give as much or as little as you want and you can always change your mind. Just add a phrase about your intention using our legal name and Canadian charitable number:
Westminster House Society – Charity number 10755 3596 RR0001
A residual Gift is a percentage of what’s left of your estate after you take care of your loved ones. This protects your intent while ebbing and flowing with inflation or any other change.
To help you ensure your Will is worded correctly to clarify your intentions so your gift is used as you wished, here is suggested wording:
2. Donate a life insurance or retirement plan
You can name us as the owner or beneficiary of your life insurance policy or retirement plan. Contact your retirement plan administrator or life insurance company and complete the appropriate beneficiary designation form.
Gift acknowledgement:
If you have already arranged a gift, we would like to thank you. Although you are under no obligation to tell us about it, we would like to share the good news of your support with our professional staff motivating them in their work. As well, hearing about new donations may inspire others to make a legacy gift.
If you want your gift to remain anonymous, we will respect your privacy.
