Alumni Spotlight – Kylee S

Before coming to Westminster House I was miserable, broken, lost and sad. I had been deep into my addiction since I was a young girl and the toxic patterns I had grown up living & learning had gotten even worse as the years went on. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired and finally decided to seek help. I was extremely hesitant at first and had no idea what I had gotten myself into but as the weeks went by I learned to trust my counsellors and the woman in the house and I had made new friends who showed care and love for me which gave me the hope to believe in myself and fight for my sobriety. If it weren’t for the relationships I had built and the tight knit community I had surrounded myself with I wouldn’t be where I am at today. I am Healthy, Happy, Succeeding at everything I put my mind to and learning to love myself more and more everyday. I am grateful for what I have taken away from Westminster House in that short period of time and the valuable life lessons I have gained. I have to say it was one of the best summers of my life and I wouldn’t change it for the world because it has made me the strong woman I am today.
