Spotlight on Katy – Woman in Recovery

I came to Westminster house from Alberta in February of 2017, feeling hopeless, helpless, and broken. My addiction had taken me to a place I couldn’t fathom getting out of. A life I had once worked so hard to achieve became meaningless and painful every single day.

Since attending Westminster House, my life has changed drastically. Not only was I able to lose the desire to use mind altering substances, I have since learned various tools and ways to not only cope with life, but to enjoy it. I have gained the confidence to take healthy risks, the ability to navigate my thoughts and feelings appropriately, and the support to make changes to better my life.

In the past 9 months, I have relocated to New Westminster, I am employed full time by the House, and have begun pursuing education for my dream career. Westminster House gave me the ability to get my life back, and better yet, find a new way to live that life.

Thank you, Westminster House!
