Sophie is a Case Manager at Westminster House. She received a Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Psychology, with a Minor in Counselling, from the University of British Columbia and a Post-Degree Diploma in Interprofessional Mental Health & Addictions (PDD IMHA) from Camosun College.  

Sophie continues to further her counselling skills and is currently in the process of obtaining her Canadian Certified Addiction Counselor Certificate (CCAC).  

Sophie brings an extensive knowledge of health and wellness to her position at Westminster House. She is a certified yoga instructor and personal trainer. Sophie takes a holistic approach to wellness, exploring the bio-psycho-social-spiritual dimensions of recovery supporting the mind body connection. She promotes recovery as a lifestyle, not simply the abstinence from drugs and alcohol. Sophie recognizes that addiction is a symptom of greater underlying issues and works with clients to address these using a trauma-informed approach. She believes the healing process involves reconnecting individuals with their authentic feelings and emotions.
