At the beginning of November, WHS Food & Nutrition Coordinator Tara begins her holiday baking and the sweet smell of Christmas fills the air. The holiday baking season starts at WHS in November and runs through New Year’s day, over the course of which 400 sweet treats will be made. A client favorite is always her famous chocolate bark and shortbread 3 ways. Tara also involves our transition clients in the baking. Some of the women have never baked before, while others take the opportunity to further develop their skills. According to clients, their favorite thing about baking with Tara is “the atmosphere in the kitchen when we are playing music, hanging out, laughing and working together to make some yummy treats!”.
