To GivingTuesday

This #GivingTuesday, Westminster House is raising funds to buy a new minivan to transport clients. Our previous minivan broke down and is unable to be repaired. We are currently without a vehicle that can seat more than one client passenger at a time. This causes a barrier for clients that need to travel outside our facility for their daily needs. The new van would take clients to 12-Step meetings and essential outings like emergency hospital visits and other medical appointments. We also like to take clients to recreational activities and immersive excursions such as sweats, cabin retreats, and day trips to a recovery acreage in Mission during the summer months. A minivan is crucial to ensuring we can capitalize on carpooling as many clients as possible to fun activities such as these.

On Tuesday November 28th, please consider giving to Westminster House! The women and youth girls in our treatment centre would benefit greatly from your contribution.

About GivingTuesday:

GivingTuesday is the world’s largest generosity movement. Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a stranger, or giving to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.

How it Began:

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. The idea caught on, and has grown around the world, inspiring hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. It was founded in 2013 in Canada by CanadaHelps.org, GIV3 and several other founding partners. GivingTuesday has active movements in more than 80 countries, working year-round to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to create a world where giving is part of everyday life.
