About this Plan

Westminster House Society (WHS) aims to develop an admission and triage laneway accessory building for the admission process resulting in an improved client experience. A rezoning application is required to regularize the site’s principal use as a recovery house and permit the construction of a detached accessory building.

Garbage and Recycling

 

Considering our neighbours, the laneway utility building will have improved garbage enclosures to hide unsightly bins along the north lane and accommodate all garbage bins and a front-end container. Low maintenance and evergreen plants have been proposed at the corner of the site to create a green pedestrian interface. Pedestrian-level lighting along the lane will increase safety and visibility.

 

Materials and Colour Scheme

The material selection respects the existing context of the neighbourhood. Stucco will be used predominantly on the building exteriors to match the principal building. Vinyl windows will introduce a warm accent to the colour scheme.
