On Thursday October 6 2016, alumni Gurdy Cheema is hosting a fashion show fundraiser at Metro Hall in New Westminster to support Westminster House clients.
“Recovery to me is a process of healing. It’s letting go of everything from the past and living in the present moment, with a gratitude for life. It’s a transformation from self-hatred to forgiveness, acceptance and self-love. Westminster house is a place where I regained my self-worth. From the wisdom of the Counsellors, to the love and support of staff and friends, I gained my strength and my purpose for a new way to live.
I have always had a lifelong passion for fashion. I am now fulfilling my dreams in fashion and self-expression through style. Faith Designz represents the embodiment of female self-worth, dignity, strength and perseverance. I am having a fashion show fundraiser for Westminster house as a way for me to give back to the place where I gained my newfound self.” says Cheema.
The highlight of the show will be the showcase of Cheema’s line, which features a fusion of Indian and Western fashions, as well as performances by hip hop rapper Tom Stewart aka Maverick, Myles Murphy and Andreas Irion. The night will be action packed filled with food, drinks, and prizes.
